One of my favorite parts about getting ready for college was getting to shop for my room. I was so excited to invision the perfect place to begin my journey into the “real world.”
Of course after scrolling through Pinterest for hours, I began writing down everything I believed I would need, or want. Day by day the list grew and grew until I was officially overwhelmed. I had never thought about how much actually goes into your living space.
To try and make this transition a little less stressful, I have compiled a list of my top dorm room items I can’t go without. After moving in, getting comfortable, and beginning my regular routine, these were the things I used on a day to day basis.

Shelf Hanging Closet Organizer
This product is perfect for saving space. I was reluctant to bring this closet hanger with me. I didn't think I would need that much more closet space. Now, I'll be the first to tell you this is an absolute must. I am so glad I brought this. I personally used it to store all of my t-shirts, tank tops, jeans, shorts, etc, but you can use it for any type of storage.

Compartment Wood Desk Organizer
I absolutely loved this product. It was such a cute addition to my desk and allowed for much more room. I used it to store books, pencils, notebooks, and even added a little picture frame to add a personal touch. You're going to spend a lot of time at your desk so you want it to look nice and stay organized.

Brita Water Pitcher
This pitcher will save you money in the long run. If you're constantly buying water bottles, it can add up really fast. Using a Brita, on the other hand, means you can filter and clean your own water. Not only does it save money, but it limits the amount of plastic you're using.

Clear Plastic Drawer Organizer Trays
If you're anything like me, being organized is very important. You want everything to be in it's place and those things need to be as organized as possible. For me, these clear organizers were the answer. I needed to be able to organize sections off in not only my desk, but my dressers, and other storage places. These drawer organizers made that possible.

Coffee is a college student's best friend. While this product is a little pricy it is worth the convenience as well as the amazing coffee smell that will travel through your room every morning. Clear Cosmetic Storage Organizer
Having your makeup and other cosmetics easy accessible is perfect for those early morning classes. This organizer was a cute and easy way to keep all of my makeup organized and in one place. Since most college kids have to share a bathroom, this product is perfect because you're able to store it on a desk, dresser, or somewhere else in your room and it still looks stunning.

Three-Tier Rolling Utility or Kitchen Cart
As a college student, often our furniture options are limited. Usually you only have a dresser, desk, and a bed. Having this additional piece helped my room declutter while keeping my room vision alive. I personally used this cart for makeup, hair assessories, and a few school supplies. I honestly don't know what I would've done without this extra space.
