Happy fall y’all! I’m so excited that the fall season has finally come upon us. The anticipation of candles, warm sweaters, and lots of fireplace cuddles, has made me beyond excited. I cannot wait to embrace the feeling of fall, as I drink a hot coffee and watch the leaves fall.
There truly isn’t any season quite like this one, especially this year. Covid-19 has continued to take over, and the world has shifted in response to this disease. Now social distancing, face masks, and temperature checks have officially become the new normal.
Lucky for us, the coronavirus has not stopped fall from arriving, but it will make our beloved season look much different. Because fall may not look the same, I wanted to put together a list of 15 COVID-friendly bucket list ideas.
No matter the condition the world may be in, we have to make the most of our situation. These thirty ways to enjoy the fall season will keep you safe, are COVID-friendly, and are lots of fun. I hope you enjoy every option and have a wonderful fall filled fun time.
1. Go to a Pumpkin Patch
Going to a pumpkin patch is one amazing way to immediately get into the fall spirit. There is no better way to begin this fall, than by being surrounded by pumpkins, wearing your favorite sweater, with a hot coffee in hand. I was lucky enough to go to a pumpkin patch this year, and it was so much fun having a little photo shoot with my roommate. The pumpkin patch we went to didn’t have anyone else there, so we were even able to take our masks off and have the entire pumpkin patch to ourselves.
2. Have a Costume Contest via Zoom
If you love to dress up for Halloween, having a costume contest is a fun way to participate in all of the Halloween events. This is such a fun thing to do with a group of friends. All you have to do is hop onto Zoom wearing your favorite Halloween look. Give everyone a twirl, and enjoy checking out everyone’s super cute Halloween look
3. Eat Pumpkin Pie
I don’t know about you, but pumpkin pie is this girl’s weakness. I could eat pumpkin pie every day of the year, but there is nothing quite like having the first pumpkin pie of the fall season. This is a simple thing to do, but it truly is a must-do for the fall. Pick out your own pumpkin pie from your favorite place, and get to eating!
4. Have a Picnic Under the Fall Trees
Picnics are an amazing COVID-friendly way to hang out with a few friends, eat good food, and enjoy being outside. While most people enjoy this activity during the summer, it is still a super fun thing to do during the fall. This fall grab a blanket, hot cocoa, and some warm soup to enjoy underneath the color-changing trees. I promise you won’t regret it.
5. Make Fall Themed Cookies
Making cookies is a great way to get creative and eat some delicious treats. If you’re at home, trying to find something fun to do during this season try this out. Make some delicious cookies shaped like leaves, pumpkins, or sweaters, and then decorate them with icing. This activity can be done solo, or you and your roommates can enjoy making fall-themed cookies together. Either way, it’s a great way to embrace the season.
6. Drink A Pumpkin Flavored Drink
I know I know, pumpkin spice really? While it may constantly be bashed on, pumpkin-flavored drinks really do hit differently. They are some of the most delicious coffee drinks I’ve had. If you’re not a fan of pumpkin-flavored drinks, make a cup of hot coffee, hot cocoa, or even hot tea to enjoy the feeling of a warm drink on a cold fall day.
7. Watch Halloween Movies
If you’re still in the October phase of fall, watching Halloween movies is a great COVID-safe way to enjoy the season. While I may be a scaredy-cat, scary movies can truly set the mood for the season. Sit down with a group of friends, brace yourself, and be ready to be scared to death this fall season.
8. Wear Cozy Socks
Recently I have fallen in love with wearing fun cozy socks. Whether they have butterflies on them (my personal favorite) or pumpkin pies, cute socks make the fall season so much better. If you don’t put on a pair of your favorite warm socks, is it really fall?
9. Carve A Pumpkin
Carving a pumpkin during the fall is a rite of passage to the winter season. I know a few people who haven’t carved pumpkins since they were kids! It is still just as fun as it was back then, trust me. Pumpkins are cheap, easy to find during the season, and very fun to carve. You can make the pumpkin whatever you want, and let your imagination run wild. Whatever you don’t throw away those pumpkin seeds.
10. Bake Pumpkin Seeds
If you’re going to carve a pumpkin, the one thing you have to try is baking the pumpkin seeds. This new trend is a great way not to waste the pumpkin insides and try the yummy baked insides of a pumpkin. There are tons of recipes online you can find in order to carry out this yummy activity.
11. Color A Halloween/Fall Themed Drawing
Coloring is an amazing way to relieve stress and wind down after a long day. If you enjoy coloring, one way to celebrate fall is by coloring or drawing a Halloween or fall-themed sheet. Even if you’re living on your own as an adult, coloring can be a fun way to relax. You can even stick the coloring sheet on your fridge to embrace the fall vibes and add a little personal touch to your place.
12. Go on A Hike
Grab a water bottle, we’re going hiking. Hiking is a great way to enjoy the fall weather and get outside. During the fall, the weather is in perfect condition for a little outdoor adventure. If you’re not sure about this idea, I suggest checking your area for hiking spots. Believe it or not, there are more hiking areas around you than you may think. I personally love hiking, and it’s such a great thing to do during the season,
13. Read a Book By The Fire
One great way to enjoy the season is by grabbing a book to read by the fire. Get your pumpkin spice drink ready, a blanket, and wear your favorite hoodie to snuggle up with a good book. This is an easy way to enjoy the season without having to leave your house. If you don’t like reading, try watching a fall-themed movie to celebrate the season.
14. Make a Thanksgiving Meal
Never cook for Thanksgiving? This year give it a try. Try making an apple pie, dressing, or even a turkey. Cooking your favorite fall food is a fun way to spend this fall. If you’ve never cooked for Thanksgiving, give your parents or loved ones a hand in the kitchen. Challenge yourself to learn how to cook a new Thanksgiving or fall food item.
15. Fall Shopping Online
Whether it’s shopping on cyber Monday, Black Friday, or just checking out the new trends online. Shopping for fall clothing, decor, and more is a great way to embrace the season. I love checking out all of the latest fall looks, adding them to my Christmas List, and falling in love with fall fashion.
If you’re looking for ways to embrace the fall season, these options make for fun and COVID-safe activities to do this fall season. I hope you enjoyed these fun fall bucket list ideas that are a must for this season.
