how I dyed my hair rose gold

Summer is finally here! I couldn’t be more excited to have a few months to enjoy the sunshine and take a little breather from my college classes.

With that being said, I wanted to enter into summer with a bang, and what better way to do that than by dying my hair a fun summer color.

About two years ago, I dyed the tips of my hair pink. As much as I loved it, this time I was hoping for a more natural light look. Since rose gold is basically my all time favorite color, I decided that was the look for me.

The Product

To give my hair its rose gold color I used the Moroccanoil Color Depositing Mask. My mom actually had this recommended to her by a beautician which means this stuff is no joke. I honestly have used different hair dyes before, but this one is definitely the best so far.

My hair smelled better than it ever has while applying, rising out, and even hours after I used it. I hate the smell of hair dye, but since this one uses moroccanoil it had an amazing refreshing and clean smell.

Let’s Get Dying

In order to dye my hair, I first washed my hair and towel dried it. After that my sister helped add in the dye to the tips of my hair. At first we didn’t use much of the product, and I let it sit for about seven minutes. Then I rinsed it out and started to blow dry it.

After the first try, the pink only slightly showed up. If the light caught it the right way you could see it, but it wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for, so we went for a round two.

This time my sister applied much much more of the dye. While I’m not sure if we needed as much as we used, we decided more was better. For round two my hair was also a lot dryer which helped hold the dye. I also let it stay on for about ten minutes instead of seven.

As you can see we didn’t exactly follow the directions word for word, but once I rinsed out my hair and blow dried it the rose gold was exactly how I wanted it. While it may have taken a trial run, overall the product was super easy to use and worked really well.

Everyone’s hair is different, so sometimes little adjustments here and there are good changes that may make it easier to use the product. Either way it’ll give your hair a gorgeous pop of pink.

Honestly, I would highly suggest this product to anyone who’s not the biggest fan of hair dye. It’s a product that’s good for your hair, smells amazing, and only lasts for thirty days. If it doesn’t come out the way you hope, it’ll wash right out in a month.

I loved how it turned out and I’m so glad I started off my summer with a little pink.

with love,
