As the sun rises, birds start to chirp, and the light starts to creep in through my window, I hear my alarm go off and open my eyes to a brand new day. Now, while not every day goes oh so smoothly. When I’m able to start my day early I’ve noticed a big difference.
Not only do I have a positive outlook on the day, but I feel like the world at my feet and time on my watch are on my side. It’s so refreshing to know that you have an entire day and you can make what you want out of it. Personally, when I wake up, workout, and make my coffee all before my class in the morning, I feel ready to take on the day.
Being able to get up early, while it is a large feat, is not the hard part. The hardest part is ensuring that you begin your days not with the dread of leaving your bed, but excitement for living today to its fullest.
It’s so tempting to pull the covers over your head and go back to sleep, and oftentimes you may need to give in and take a break. That’s okay. It’s healthy to rest and relax, but don’t let that become your normal. As much as a pamper day can be fun, you can’t have a relaxing day every day.
Having a little motivation in the morning feels good, and plays a part in fulfilling areas of your life. This type of mindset isn’t easy to reach, and personally I still struggle with it, but when you have it, it’s worth it.
If you don’t think you can get yourself off the couch, stop watching that show, or just wake up a little earlier than normal, try having someone to keep you accountable.
Trust me, if you try one day of waking up earlier, starting out your day with a little bit of work and effort, the difference will be substantial.
It makes your mindset for the day so much more positive, productive, and overall I’ve found I’m generally in a better mood. I challenge you to wake up early just one day this week, and you’ll without a doubt feel the difference.
